"Suicide's Collateral Damage"

Suicide has wide spread impacts within the family, constellation of friends and acquaintances, and the broader community. These impacts, collateral harms, were studied in order to better understand the course of recovery within the family. In this session, Professor Barry L. Jackson will present a step-wise model useful in the clinical intervention and understanding of the recovery process, based on a longitudinal study of fourteen suicide victims and 43 family members and friends. The session will conclude with a short Q&A segment with Professor Jackson.
