Presenter Bio
Lynn Jenkins is a practising and experienced clinical psychologist. She has been working in private practice for over 15 years during which time she has provided therapy to assist people with a wide variety of psychological and emotional difficulties. Over the years Lynn has developed a particular passion for early intervention. She loves to educate and assist new parents with the social/emotional aspects of the parent-child relationship, as well as assisting children to manage their worries and anxiety. Lynn wears some other hats. She is a trained Kids and Family Yoga Instructor and Mindfulness teacher. Lynn offers groups in both Kids’ Yoga and Mindfulness. She is also an author and has had six books published – Best Start – which examines how early emotional foundations are established and how to provide the best start for your child; School Start – educating parents on the social/emotional needs of children in the early years at school; Lessons of a Lac – a picture book that is really a resource tool, that teaches children a useful way to think about and manage their worries and anxieties; Brave which is the book following from Lessons of a Lac . Brave teaches children how to find their inner brave to help kids do things they are worried about; Perfect Petunias, the third book in the Lessons of a LAC series is for those little budding perfectionists; and Ollies Treasure that teaches children about mindfulness and happiness. Lynn together with the illustrator of her books regularly visit schools to educate kids about anxiety and how to manage it.
