Joy Kennedy

Professional Counsellor and Supervisor

A Guide to a Healthy Counselling Practice

Our industry is diverse and offers so much to so many – the areas to build a practice are endless but at the same time can be very challenging.  Joy will present her ‘journey’ towards building a ‘Healthy Counselling Practice’.  She will look at the challenges often faced, a range of ideas, hints and tips found during her own experience, research, studies and the success she learned of others in the industry.

Joy has a Bachelor of Counselling (2015), Advanced Diploma of Christian Counselling and runs a generalist practice with a realistic counselling approach with the majority of her clients from a background of childhood sexual abuse, trauma and/or complex grief issues.  Joy also engages with clients of many diverse and varied problem situations.

Joy is a member of the ACA College of Supervisors and provides Supervision for Counsellors, for teachers, nurses, police officers and for people in Christian ministry.  Joy implicitly believes in the value of good Supervision!
